Pulwama: As a part of International Yoga Day celebrations to be held on 21st June, and in compliance to the directions of Director AYUSH UT of Jammu and Kashmir, NSS Units and Department of Physical Education and Sports of Govt. Degree College Tral in collaboration with AYUSH Unit Tral organized an iconic Yoga session on 4th of June 2022 in with more than 100 students of various semesters participated.
The programme was inaugurated by the worthy principal of College Prof. Mushtaq Ahmad Lone. While addressing the participating students Prof. Mushtaq Ahmad Lone highlighted the importance of exercise in today’s sedentary life style .With the help of his valid arguments he explained how Yoga can be beneficial for curbing various life style diseases which are very prevalent in our society..He thanked AYUSH team for organizing such sessions and assured them full cooperation.
Speaking on the occasion senior faculty member Prof. Bashir Ahmad Shah highlighted the benefits of staying active. He explained how meditation and Yoga can bring positive changes in one’s life style.
Dr Zahoor Ahmad Sheikh, Medical officer from AYUSH Unit Tral also spoke on the occasion. In his address to participants Dr Zahoor Ahmad discussed how drug and substance abuse is affecting the social fabric of our society and how yoga can be helpful in rehabilitating of addicted youth.
He explained how various targeted ASANAS can be helpful against various ailments. He wholeheartedly thanked college administration on behalf of AYUSH Pulwama for their cooperation.
After the culmination of inaugural session experts from AYUSH Unit Tral taught various ASNAS to participating boy and girl students in separate sessions.
The entire proceedings of the programme were conducted by NSS Programme Officer, Mr Muhammad Aabid Shah.
