Vehicle without HSRP to be seized post 15 June : Traffic officials

(KashmirScroll)—All vehicles operating without HSRP in Kashmir valley will be seized after 15 June 2022 , DIG Police Traffic Range Kashmir said on Monday.

“Driving Vehicle in any public place without High Security Number Plate (HSRP) as prescribed in Rule 50 of the Central Motor Vehicle Rules read with Ministry of Road Transport and Highway Notification dated 06.12.2018, is violation of Section 39 of the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988 (hereinafter referred as Act) and is liable to be seized under section 207 of the Act and shall be punishable under section 192 (i) of the Act with a fine of minimum Rs.2000/= which can go up to Rs.5000/= and for second or subsequent offence with imprisonment which can extend to one year or fine of minimum Rs.5000/= which can go up to Rs.10000/= or both.” Reads an advisory issued by Deputy Inspector General of Police Traffic Range Kashmir.

“Accordingly all the vehicle owners are advised that they should not ply their vehicle or allow anybody to ply their vehicle without fitment of High Security Registration Plate. In case of failure, the vehicle will be seized and penalty under the Motor Vehicle Act shall be imposed. ” It added.
