Drug peddler arrested in Budgam, psychotropic substance recovered: Police

Budgam Police on Saturday claimed to have arrested a drug peddler and recovered psychotropic substance from his possession.

During Naka checking at Panzan near Govt. Higher Secondary school Panzan Police party from Police Station Chadoora intercepted a vehicle bearing registration number JK04F-0682 which was coming from Budgam to Chadoora via Panzan, the said vehicle was stopped for checking. During search 66 bottles apparently Cholorpheniramine maleate and Codeine Phosphate based syrup (Controlled drug) was recovered from his possession in the vehicle.

The vehicle used for transportation of drugs was seized and drug peddler arrested who was subsequently identified as Firdous Ahmad Wani son of Ghulam Ahmad Wani resident of Chadoora

A Case FIR number 117/2022 under relevant sections of NDPS Act stands registered at Police Station Chadoora & investigation taken up.

Community members are requested to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers in their neighbourhood.Persons found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt as per law.
