Pulwama, Jul 01:The residents of Lelhara-Kakapora in South Kashmir’s Pulwama district are demanding macadamisation of their main road, urging authorities to fulfil their demands forthwith.
The residents of Dar Mohalla Lelhara residing on the bank of river Jehlum said that the road leading to the area has never been macadamised due to which locals are suffering.
Zahid Hussain, a local resident said that they are witnessing that minor link roads are being macadamised but due to unknown reasons, their road which is connecting hundreds of households is being neglected.
“Our school going children and patients are suffering due to the dilapidated condition of the road,” he said.
Gh Qadir Dar, another local said that presently he is 60-year-old, but have never seen authorities macadamize this road.
“There is heavy rush on this road but due to its dilapidated condition, people especially elderly and patients are suffering,” he said. “We have brought this issue to the notice of higher ups dozens of times who always assure that road will be macadamised but these assurances prove a hoax on ground.
They requested concerned authorities to look into the matter at an earliest and macadamise the road so that locals can heave a sigh of relief—(KNO)
