Acting tough against illegal extractors:92 FIRs registered,238 persons arrested, 211 vehicles seized in ongoing year in Budgam

Srinagar, Dec 04 (KS) :- Acting tough against the illegal mineral extractors, Budgam police this year has registered 92 FIRs against them.

An official told Kashmir scroll that in its sustained efforts to safeguard the natural resources in the district, Budgam Police cracked down heavily on illegal excavators and transporters in the district.

During current year as many as 92 FIRs were registered, 238 persons were arrested and 211 vehicles were seized for illegal excavation and transportation of minerals in district Budgam.

While giving details, police station wise, police said in police Station Budgam , 32 cases,70 Persons arrested, 62 Vehicle seized, Police Station Khansahib:- 09 cases,14 Persons arrested, 14 Vehicle seized, Police Station Magam:- 06 cases,28 Persons arrested, 11 Vehicle seized, Police Station Beerwah:- 39 cases,85 Persons arrested, 88 Vehicle seized, Police Station Khag:- 01 Vehicles cases,04 Persons arrested, 04 Vehicle seized, Police Station Chadoora:- 15 cases,37 Persons arrested, 32 Vehicle seized.

In total cases 92 were registered, Persons arrested include 238 and number of vehicle seized 211, police said.
