Pulwama, Feb 06 (KNO): The residents of Khankah village in Awantipora are up in arms against the administration for lack of development in their area.
They said that interior roads in the area are in dilapidated condition even as the area falls close to Jammu-Srinagar National highway.
They said water pipes in the area were laid around 10 years ago but water supply is yet to reach them. Dozens of households in the area don’t have any access to drinking water facilities, Mohammad Yousuf, a local told news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO).
He said that a playfield was sanctioned in their area around 20 years ago but no work was carried out so far.
Locals alleged that despite attending Gram Sabha and registering all works required to be done on priority basis but nothing is being done on the ground.
They said that it must be investigated why no works were carried out in their area by the Rural Development Department.
“We have brought these issues into the notice of higher ups several times to no avail,” the locals added.
They requested concerned authorities to look into the matter at the earliest—(KNO)
