Pulwama,17 Feb(KS): Police on Friday claimed to have arrested a drug Peddler in South Kashmir’s Pulwama district and recovered contraband substances from his possession.
A police spokesperson in a statement issued to The Kashmir Scroll said “On a specific information received by Police Station Litter that one person namely Shakeel Ahmad Ganai son of Ab Gani, a resident of Tumlihaal is indulged in drug peddling to the youths and has concealed narcotic substances in his residential house.
He said, Acting upon the information Police party from Police station Litter along with Magistrate raided the said house at Tumlihaal Pulwama.
During search of the house 2 bags containing 10.5kgms of cannabis powder were recovered from the house, spokesman said.
The accused person has been arrested and to this effect Case FIR No 11/2023 u/s 8/20 of NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Litter and investigation set into motion, he added.(KS)
