Srinagar:- Srinagar- Jammu national highway remains closed for the second day on Wednesday after shooting stones and slides blocked the road near Banihal on Tuesday.
“Traffic update at 0800 hrs:Jammu Srinagar NHW is still closed. Restoration work is underway. People are advised not to travel on NH-44 till the restoration work is completed, ” traffic police said in a tweet on Wednesday morning.

The road clearance operation is underway and vehicular movement on the National Highway will resume within next few hours, he added.
However, the authorities have advised the commuters to undertake the journey on the National Highway only after confirming the status of the road from Traffic Control Units of Ramban, Srinagar and Jammu.
