Anantnag, Feb 22 (KNO): Residents of Tambripora village in Anantnag’s Dooru on Wednesday staged protest against the PDD for failing to install additional electric transformer in the area.

As per the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), protestors blocked Anantnag-Verinag road and said the existing transformer doesn’t cater to the area and often develops faults.

They said that the 100 KVA transformer develops technical snag frequently as it caters power to more than 100 households.

Nazir Ahmad, a local said that the government increases electricity fee as per their will but they have failed to upgrade infrastructure as their transformer has developed snag several times in the last two months.

Population in the area has increased in the last three decades but power infrastructure hasn’t been enhanced in the area, he said.

Locals said that they have been raising this issue in front of concerned higher officials to no avail—(KNO)
