Srinagar, Feb 28 (KS) :Two militants and a soldier were killed while another soldier was injured in an encounter in Padgampora area of Awantipora in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district.
An official told Kashmir Scroll said that a joint of team of police, Army’s 55 RR and CRPF after receiving information about the presence of militants in the launched search operation.
He said that as the joint team of forces intensified searches towards the suspected spot, hiding militants fired upon the party, which was retaliated to, thus triggering an encounter.
He said in the ensuing encounter two militants were killed while two soldiers were injured, among them later one succumbed to injuries.
He identified slain soldier as CT Pawan while NK Hemraj has been shifted to 92 base hospital Srinagar for treatment.
