10 gamblers arrested in Pulwama 3,96,200 stake money Seized

Srinagar, Mar 06 (KS) : Jammu and Kashmir police on Monday said to have arrested 10 gamblers and seized stake money of rupees Three Lakh Ninty-Six Thousand Two Hundred in South Kashmir’s Pulwama district.

“On yesterday Police Station Pulwama received specific information through reliable sources about gambling activities at public place in Chewa Kharud. Upon this a police party from PS Pulwama raided the specific site and arrested 10 gamblers on the spot” a police spokesperson in a statement to The Kashmir Scroll said.

He identified them as Mohd Ashraf Bhat son of Ab Rashid Bhat resident of Prichoo Pulwama, Gulzar Ahmad Bhat son of Mohd Yousuf Bhat resident of Bagi Mehtab Srinagar, Imtiyaz Ahmad Bhat son of Ab Rehman Bhat resident of Chanapora, Mushtaq Ahmad Wani son of Fatah Mohammad Wani a resident of Monghama Pulwama, Feroz Ahmad Malik son of Ab. Aziz Malik resident of Chadoora, Ashiq Ahmad Sofi son of Gh. Mohd. Sofi resident of Rainawari Srinagar, Mehraj Ahmad Malla son of Khazir Mohammad Malla resident of Sumbal, Anwar ul Haq son of Akbar ud Din resident of Tangpora Srinagar , Tariq Ahmad Sheikh son of Sonaullah Sheikh resident of Shalpora Aloch Bagh and Younis Ahmad Zarger son of Nazir Ahmad Zarger resident of 90 feet Soura and also seized stake money of Rs/-3,96,200 from their possession.

Accordingly, Case FIR No 45/2023 U/S 13 Gambling Act has been registered in Police Station Pulwama and further investigation has been set in motion—(KS)
