Police started sending challans to the residences of traffic violators in Kishtwar

Kishtwar, 08 Mar (KS): Police in Kishtwar has started a special drive to send challan of violations of Motor Vehicle Act to the residential addresses of violators.

A police spokesperson in a statement to Kashmir Scroll said that at various locations, officers of district Police Kishtwar through CCTV surveillance mechanism have started shooting photographs/conducting videography for violation of traffic rules, identifying the vehicles through number plate reading system and subsequently, after ascertaining residential addresses of owners of vehicle have started sending challan through post alongwith photographs of such violations to their homes.

Meanwhile challan copy is also submitted to the Hon’ble court of Mobile Magistrate Kishtwar. In case such culprits on specified dates do not report before the Hon’ble court, summon/warrants shall be got issued and same shall be executed by Police.

SSP Kishtwar Sh. Khalil Poswal-JKPS while briefing media, impressed upon all drivers to ensure compliance of traffic rules, otherwise challan shall be sent to their residential addresses and SSP Kishtwar also advised youths to not to do misadventures by stunt biking as their life is precious for all of us—(KS)
