Baramulla: 17 April (KS):- Residents of Delina area of Baramulla on Monday protested against the shortage of water.

Locals on Monday morning protested with empty water pitchers against acute drinking water crisis and administrative apathy, disrupting traffic movement

The villagers said the problem of drinking water has become acute in the area and they are suffering every time.

Despite bringing this issue in notice of Jal Sakhti department but nothing has been done on ground to solve the issue, they said.

“We were forced to block traffic on the NH as a mark of protest against officials of Jal Shakti department who have remained callous.” They said.

“We understand that blocking traffic on the highway may have caused inconvenience to commuters but we had no other option,” they said.

They requested higher ups to look into the matter at an earliest so that locals won’t suffer anymore.
