Leopard captured alive in Baramulla


Srinagar, 17 April: A leopard which had been posing a threat to the lives of people and livestock in the Varmul Heights, Chinad and Delina areas of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district has been captured alive.

An official said that the leopard was captured after the department received a call about its presence in the Varmul Heights colony, Delina and Chinad areas of Baramulla.
“Soon after getting the information, we had laid traps at various positions and today the leopard was captured without causing any damage or injury to anyone,” he said.

He said that the leopard had been hiding in the area for the last several months.
