Four militants killed in North Kashmir in last 24 hours
Srinagar, May 04 (KS):- Two militants were killed in an encounter that broke out between militants and security forces in Wanigam Payeen area of Kreeri in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Thursday.
An official told the Kashmir Scroll that a gunfight broke out in Wanigam Payeen area of Kreeri after forces launched a cordon and search operation there on specific inputs about the presence of militants.
“As the joint team of forces approached towards the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon them, triggering an encounter,” he said.
“During ensuing encounter, two militants were killed, whose identification is being ascertained while search operation is on in the area,” he said.
Notably, this was the second gunfight in last 24 hours in North Kashmir as two militants were killed in North Kashmir’s Kupwara district on Wednesday.
