Rajnath singh likely to visit Jammu to review situation


Srinagar, May06 (KS): A militant has killed in a gunfight between security forces and militants in Kesari area of Kandi hamlet in Rajouri district.
Official sources told Kashmir Scroll that one unidentified militant has been killed whose identification is being ascertained while as search operation is on in the area.
Earlier, on Friday fficial said that a joint team of Police, Army and CRPF launched a Cordon and Search Operation (CASO) on specific information about the presence of militants in the area.
He said that as the joint team of forces approached towards the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon them, which was retaliated, triggering a gunfight and five para troopers have been killed already.
Meanwhile, Defense minister Rajnath Singh is likely to visit Jammu to review the situation on Saturday.
Lt Gen Upendra Dwivedi Army Commander Northern Command is at Ground Zero, reviewing the operational situation on the ongoing operations at Kandi Rajouri where contact was re-established with militants.
He was briefed on all aspects of the operations by ground commanders.
