Sopore man jumps into river Jhelum, rescued

Srinagar, May 07 (KS) : An Aged Man was rescued after he allegedly jumped into river Jhelum in a bid to end his life at Sopore Chankan Bridge area in north Kashmir’s Sopore on Sunday

Reports reaching Kashmir Scroll said that elderly man was found by locals attempting to jump into river Jhelum at Chankhan bridge in Sopore.

“After noticing the movement as doubtful, locals rushed towards him, however, in the meantime, the man jumped into the river, but was immediately rescued,” reports said.

Meanwhile, officials while confirming the incident said, that the man was rescued and hails from village.

He has been shifted to the SDH hospital for necessary medical treatment, the official said—(KS)
