Garkote Uri resident protest against PMGSY, demand expedition of work on vital road

Baramulla, May 15 ( KS) :- Villagers of Garkote Uri on Tuesday protested against the dilapidated condition of the under construction road from Uri to Garkote and Noori to Kaler.

Reports reaching news agency—Kashmir Scroll said that the work on this road from Noori to Kaler was started before two years under Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY), but from last two months work has been stopped without any reason

The protest was organized under the supervision of Sarpanch Garkote .The villagers alleged that the PMGSY department was delaying completion of this road for no reasons with the result people were suffering.

Even as the matter was brought to the notice of PMGSY Department but no action was taken, said the villagers.

Sick patients and pregnant women are the worst sufferers as the road has turned accident prone with lot of pits”, the residents stated

Residents urge the Deputy Commissioner Baramulla to intervene and direct to expedite the work for early completion so that locals can heave a sigh of relief—(KS)
