Srinagar, May 17 (KS) :- A CRPF personnel committed suicide by shooting himself dead in Awantipora area of South Kashmir’s Pulwama district.
An official told the Kashmir Scroll that a Crpf Constable Birhade Yogesh Ashok son of Birhade Ashok Manik resident of Maharashtra presently posted with E-coy 130 at Guard duty JIC Awantipora allegedly committed suicide.
He said that Ashok was on duty as Guard Santri when he shot himself with his own service rifle and died on the spot.
FSL team was called on the spot and necessary legal procedures were followed, he said.
Body has been shifted to PCR Srinagar and cognizance has been taken by PS Awantipora under 174 crpc, he added.
